A nice quiet day

The wife is working on her grad project, its raining like cats and dogs and I'm just sitting here.  All in all this is shaping up like a pretty good weekend.

So first things first, my NBA predictions for the east are going horrible.  Orlando looks like a JV team next to Boston.  However the plus is Boston-LA finals again are something I will actually tune into see, as will most of the country.

Second, I got hoodwinked into watching the Blindside movie about Michael Oher.  Sorry...about Sandra Bullock.  For a movie which was marketed as the player's story, it sure as fuck had as little to do about him as possible.  This was not the Michael Oher story, this was the rich white woman who took him in story.  Add to that there was very little football involved and I can't stand Sandra Bullock....yea I wouldn't buy this movie if it was made of water and I was on fire.

* 1/4 out of *****.   The only reason it even gets 1 1/4 is for the few and far between football sequences.

Third, Arlen Spector's career is over and I am taking a great amount of glee in it.  Fuck the traitor.

However I have the thing of all things which is worth viewing.   I LOVE this video.  It is the funniest thing I've seen in a looong loong time.

It was a fabuous night to watch basketball

So the Cavs bit the big one in Boston and LeBron took all of about 12 seconds post game to get that shitty jersey off him.  He and his business team will look at their options.  You know what that means?

I'M OUT OF HERE BITCHES!

So now the question is where will he land?  New York, Chicago, New Jersey, and LA are being touted as the likely options.  Let's examine them in the order of likely chances:

LA.   #1 he's not leaving suckass cleveland to go play for the fucking clippers.  Lebron on the Lakers in the place of say Artest?  If that happened I'd probably buy the NBA package, and be killed by my wife, just to watch him and Kobe but thats not going to happen either.  So chance of LA.....5%

New York Knicks.    The Knicks are a dumpster fire.  Biggest stage in the world with the biggest pile of shit in the spotlight.  Even if they get him and let's say Bosh, what else do they have to help him win instantly.  Remember, if he wanted to be patient, he could sit in cleveland for another 3 years while they surround him.  This is about being an instant contender.   Chance is...10%

New Jersey Nets.  This could be a sleeper pick.  They are a decent young team, good market and they're likely getting the #1 (Wall) or the #2 pick (Turner).  Add a billionaire owner and the whole move to NY thing and you have an attractive option.   Chance is.....35%

Chicago Bulls.   Honestly the only bad thing here is Jordan's shadow and if you're confidant as LeBron seems to be, he'll overcome it.  Let's face it, Kobe was in Magic's shadow too, but he found his niche.  Chicago has Rose, Noah, a few other role players and if they add LeBron and another player to compliment him they're an instant contender.  Chance....50%

You may notice that I am giving Cleveland a 0% chance of keeping him.

Suck on it you punk bitch mother fuckers.  Cleveland sucks.

Life is good again

Well its been awhile but the election is over and I learned some good lessons which will help me in the future.

With the exception of Cleveland/Boston my NBA predictions are right on the mark which I'm pretty pleased with.

Over in the UK it looks like the conservatives are taking over which is nice.  Gordon Brown managed to do to Labour what Bob Taft did to the Ohio GOP.

I managed to finally watch two big recent movies.

I'm at work so I'm not going through the fancy graphics and all but here we go.

The Hangover:   **** out of *****

Fucking funny with a large assortment of unknown actors and a cameo by Mike Tyson and a tiger.  Worth the couple hours of your time and be prepared to LOL.  Someday I'll own this.

Avatar   **** 1/2 out of *****

The only thing making this short of 5 stars is the ending is very predictable but watching this in blu ray was fan-fucking-tastic.  Great CGI, a decent storyline and some good character acting.  SigourneyWeaver and the guy who play the Marine drill sergeant are very good.  Can't say I'll someday own this since I ponied up for it already.  A nice addition to the DVD collection.

Tonight I'm not sure what I'm doing.  We have the Blindside and Whip It, so I imagine it'll be one of the two.

It looks like I'm going to be more civic involved which either means I may be able to bull rush some ideas and change with the right people, or I'll piss off alot of people by shooting off my mouth.  Either way it can be fun.
