ITS THE FUCKING CATALINA WINE MIX....WAIT...ITS THE NFL DRAFT

1. St Louis Rams -

Expected:  Sam Bradford (QB-Oklahoma)

Actual:   Sam Bradford (QB-Oklahoma)

Not the best QB of the draft, won't be the best QB 5 years from now.  Too little adversity, too little talent around him, everytime he runs into a fast defense he ends up hurt and humbled.  But when you pass on Ryan, Sanchez, and Flacco what else can you do but hitch your wagon to someone.

2. Detroit Lions -

Expected:  Ndamukong Suh (DT-Nebraska)
Actual:   Ndamukong Suh (DT-Nebraska)

The best player in the draft.  Great work ethic, great off the field humility.  Detroit makes a 10-12 year investment and it just got harder to run up the middle in the NFC North not to mention passing.  Look out Favre.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -

Expected:  Gerald McCoy  (DT-Oklahoma)
Actual:     Gerald McCoy  (DT-Oklahoma)

A near perfect fit for the Tampa defense.  This is another long term guy for the Bucs like they haven't had since Warren Sapp and in a division with Michael Turner, DeAngelo Williams, and a bevy of Saints backs...you can't go wrong here.  Don't get me wrong though.  They'll be picking in the top 5 again next year.

4. Washington Redskins -

#4 expected Russell Okung--(OT Oklahoma St)

Actual:    Trent Williams (T-Oklahoma)

Either way you're not going to get a bad tackle here and with McNabb's age thats a good thing.  Washington has a great backfield so this is a win win for them and when you've got a guy named Demarcus Ware in your division, someone has to keep Donovon off his back.

5. Kansas City Chiefs -

Expected:  Eric Berry (S-Tennessee)
Actual:    Eric Berry (S-Tennessee)

The closest thing we have in this draft to Ed Reed in this draft.  This guy has all pro written all over him and barring injury he's going to be a name everyone knows within 4 years.  KC's putting distance between themselves and Oakland for the cellar.

6. Seattle Seahawks -

Expected:  CJ Spiller (RB-Clemson)
Actual:  Russell Okung (OT-Oklahoma St)

Completely disagree with this pick.  In a tackle-heavy draft, you can get one of them at 14.  At 6 Seattle had a chance to get a game changer and they let it fly by them.  Maybe they get lucky on the back end but I think its unlikely.

7. Cleveland Browns -

Expected:  Jimmy Clausen (QB-Notre Dame)
Actual:    Joe Haden (CB-Florida)

I can't really dog them for this pick.  You're in a division with guys like Ward, Boldin, Ocho Cinco, etc.  You need some CB help and Haden's a good one.  Watch for Holmgren to get creative later tonight to get his QB.

8. Oakland Raiders -

Expected:  Earl Thomas (S-Texas)
Actual:   Rolando McClain (MLB-Alabama)

I have to believe Al Davis did this because he knows Denver wanted him.  Thats how the old man rolls and why he's in the top 10 for the 5th straight year.  The kid is good and he'll help against the run in the AFC west but is he the #8 player in the draft?  Nope.  Maybe he and Heyward-Bey can room together at camp.

9. Buffalo Bills -

Expected:  Jimmy Clausen (QB-Notre Dame)
Actual:   CJ Spiller (RB-Clemson)

Great pick by Buffalo.  Kickoff returns, speed, move him around the field, anyone who picked him would get an A+ from me.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars -

Expected:  Derrick Morgan (DE-GT)
Actual:   Tyson Alualu (DT-Cal)

What the fuck?!  This is why Jacksonville will be the Los Angeles Jaguars in 3 years.

11. San Francisco 49ers (via Denver) -

Expected:  Jimmy Clausen (QB-Notre Dame)
Actual:     Anthony Davis (OT-Rutgers)

Okay didn't see this one coming but with another 1st round pick, this isn't bad.  You've got to build a line to protect whoever you eventually draft.  I think we'll see their new QB at #17

12. San Diego Chargers (via Miami) -

Expected:  Ryan Matthews (RB-Fresno St)
Actual:    Ryan Matthews (RB-Fresno St)

And I finally get another right. This kid is a bruiser, and they needed a RB to replace Tomlinson. Good speed, loves to hit the hole. Very nice move.

13. Philladelphia (via Denver)-

Expected: Earl Thomas (S-Texas)
Actual:   Brandon Graham (DE-Michigan)

A nice pick...he'll be solid, but unspectacular....the Eagles missed the boat to bring in the heir to Brian Dawkins

14. Seattle Seahawks -

Expected:  Dez Bryant (WR-Oklahoma St)
Actual:    Earl Thomas (S-Texas)

Someone's gotta protect against Fitzgerald and Crabtree and someday someone from the Rams.  The old DC gets his defensive team captain for the future.

15. New York Giants -

Expected:  Dez Bryant (WR-Oklahoma St)
Actual:    Jason Pierre-Paul (DE-South Florida)

G-Men were 30th in defense.  They need speed, they need youth, they need some attitude.  On that side of the ball, good pick.

16. Tennessee Titans -

Expected:  Kyle Wilson (CB-Boise St)
Actual:    Derrick Morgan (DE-GT)

With Vanderbosch gone, it makes sense and he gives them someone to pressure the QB.

17. San Francisco 49ers -

Expected:  Jimmy Clausen (QB-Notre Dame)
Actual:   Mike Iupati (G-Idaho)

Iupati can play any position on the line, and these 2 picks show their desire to run the ball. Still Alex Smith is your QB. Better hope Gore is healthy.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers -

Expected:  Maurkice Pouncey (C-Florida)
Actual:   Maurkice Pouncey (C-Florida)

YES! As a Pittsburgh fan I am thrilled! Here's our center for the next 10 years.

19. Atlanta Falcons -

Expected:  Jermaine Gresham (TE-Oklahoma)
Actual:   Sean Weatherspoon (LB-Missouri)

I forgot about this guy which is probably why I haven't replaced Mel Kiper. For atlanta its a nice pick, bolsters a defense which needs more linebacker attention. This kid will be good.

20. Houston Texans -

Expected:  Brian Baluga (OT-Iowa)
Actual:    Kareem Jackson (CB-Alabama)

A good QB who's played in big games.  I like the fact they're thinking defense because it shows they're comfortable where they're at on offense.

21. Cincinnati Bengals -

Expected:  Jermaine Gresham  (TE-Oklahoma)
Actual:    Jermaine Gresham (TE-Oklahoma)

Nice pick, another weapon added and he was a phenom in college. Worth the pick here.

22. Denver Broncos (via New England)-

Expected:  Demaryius Thomas (WR-GT)
Actual:    Demaryius Thomas (WR-GT)

Them liking him over Bryant says to me they think he's a headcase like Brandon Marshall.  Thomas is a pretty solid WR and as he adjusts to the NFL's speed and size he'll be a reliable 2nd or slot option.

23. Green Bay Packers -

Expected:  Sergio Kindle (DE-Texas)
Actual:    Brian Bulaga (OT-Iowa)

Solid pick.  An angry bear who will punish the right ends, eventually guys like Jared Allen included.  Aaron Rogers can breath a little easier.

24. Dallas Cowboys (via New England) (via Denver)(via Philadelphia) -

Expected: Dez Bryant (WR-Oklahoma St)
Actual:    Dez Bryant (WR-Oklahoma St)

Great grab by the Cowboys.  Romo may finally have a #1 who doesn't want him dead.

25. Denver Broncos (via Baltimore) -

Expected:   I gotta be honest, I saw the pick before I knew the trade so no prediction here but Tebow?!  Wow
Actual:

26. Arizona Cardinals -

Expected:  Colt McCoy (QB-Texas)
Actual:    Dan Williams (DT-Tenneessee)

Williams playing the 3-4 as Pittsburgh West and Williams fits the bill. Good size, good production. Stephen Jackson, Frank Gore etc will have to work a little harder.

27. New England Patriots (via Dallas) -

Expected:  Jared Odrick (DE-PSU)
Actual:    Devin McCourty (CB-Rutgers)

Wow....Belicheat knows his stuff so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt but not what I expected.

28. Miami Dolphins (via San Diego) -

Expected:  Sergio Kindle (DE-Texas)
Actual:    Jared Odrick (DE-PSU)

Defense  defense defense.  Great pick with a kid who has a motor that doesn't stop.  I'd have liked to seen the outside LB tact but this is a good decision.

29. New York Jets -

Expected:   Sergio Kindle (DE-Texas)
Actual:    Kyle Wilson (CB-Boise St)

Defense is good here and they do have beasts to rush the QB.  Might as well add a solid corner.

30. Detroit Lions (via Minnesota) -

Expected:  Jahvid Best (RB-Cal)
Actual:    Jahvid Best (RB-Cal)

A nice speedy weapon, helps in special teams and offensive packages.  In Detroit any weapon is a good one.

31. Indianapolis Colts -

Expected:  Sergio Kindle (DE-Texas)
Actual:    Jerry Hughes (DE-TCU)

Quick pass rusher, it gives them another weapon off the edge and if Freeney is healthy watch out.

32. New Orleans Saints -

Expected:  Taylor Mays (S-USC)
Actual:    Patrick Robinson (CB-FSU)

They need more depth and talent on defense to keep their edge and they got a pretty good one.

Well, I went 10/32.  That really sucks.

I have not forgotten about my wonderful readers...

how could I forget about myself?

Yes it's been a little while since my last post and in time that I have watched some movies, some sports, and I have decided what I want to do with my life.  So away we go.

Let me get this out of the way.  FUCKING HILARIOUS.  Great cast, great zombie fun.  Very very funny.  Okay I know that the main male char comes across like the producers couldn't get the kid from Superbad/Juno but its still funny.  At some point this is ending up on the rack.  ****1/2 out of *****

Next up:

Now don't get me wrong, this movie wasn't horrible.  But the closest thing I have to link it to is the Happening from a few years back.  The movie has some nice suspense, some decent plot areas but by the end you're kind of thinking or saying "what the fuck just happened?"  I'm going to give it *** out of *****.  I have always for some reason liked Frank Langella which could have gotten this 3 1/2 stars, but having to look at Cameron Diaz for 2 hours nixed that by 1/2 a star.

Sports news recap:   Santonio Holmes is now wake n' baking for the Jets, Duke is the new NCAA Champions, Baseball season started and I like the Yanks' chances this year already and hockey and the NBA are getting ready for their playoffs...yawn.

So I finally decided what I want to do with my life.  My dream job will be to take this blog and to turn it into a talk radio show.  Sports, Politics, News, etc.  Just sitting there talking for 2-3 hours a day, taking emails, taking calls.  I think if I was able to do it, I'd be on cloud 9.  Chances are I will never do it but at least I see what I want to do.

Obama now says no matter what happens he won't use nukes against someone even if they use chem or bio on us.  In further news America just became a little more pussified.

Mitt Romney won a straw poll somewhere for 2012.  Ron Paul came in 2nd.  Doesn't fill me with hope.

The good news of the day:  Conan is coming back to TV on TBS.  This is great for me because I loved his show when he was able to do crazy off the wall shit and TBS wont care about what he does or says.  Plus the most unfunny man in comedy, George Lopez is pushed back to midnight.  Hey George, Paul Rodriguez called and he wants his shtick back.
