It's difficult to win any game when you give it away 3 times and never get it back, especially when those 3 lead to 21 points. As I went home from our party last night I checked my facebook and low and behold I was greeted by two different forms of the same bullshit.
Form number one looked like this:
Cleveland/Dallas/Pats/Jets/etc fan> YAY PACKERS!
Some of these people were genuine in their hate and I can applaud that. Most felt like they went with the flow and the popular thing to do. Throw in the occasional 'you QB is a rapist!' gem and you have that side pretty well handled.
The second form was the most disturbing for me. Now I feel myself to be a pretty dedicated fan. I have been pissed off for about the last....12 hours almost. Got to sleep late, kept thinking about the game, etc. But some folks just have an easier time of things and it pisses me the fuck off.
Steeler fan> 'It's okay boys, I love you to pieces and you'll be right back in the game next week. There's no shame tonight.'
THE FUCK THERE ISN'T!
Our team played like dogshit in the first quarter and as we saw ALL SEASON LONG our major issue is our secondary. JORDY FUCKING NELSON LOOKED LIKE JERRY RICE! Polamalu I'm hoping has the excuse of having a broken leg because he looked clueless out there, playing 40 yards off the ball and never in position like he usually is. WILLIAM GAY IS FUCKING TERRIBLE. James Farrior needs to hang it up, he looked like an old man who'd lost both steps. Defensive line could do nothing. Harrison was largely invisible. So no, there is a lot to be ashamed of from last night's performance.
As a dedicated fan here's what I want Mr Rooney. No more wasted draft picks on people who NEVER SAW THE FIELD FOR MORE THAN 3 MINUTES THIS YEAR. There was seriously no corner, no safety, no offensive lineman we could have taken then? Our problem isn't needing a 3rd TE or a 5th WR. We need to get young and talented in the defensive backfield. If our first 3 picks are not CBs or Safeties, or maybe a stud MLB I'm going to be pissed off.
Next: SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY ON GOOD FREE AGENTS. Offensive Line especially. The worst news I thought of this morning was realizing on my drive to work that Max Starks will be back next year and I nearly drove into a tree. Aside from what appears to be a true gem in Pouncey, this entire line needs blown up. Quality veterans starting, and helping train the young guys you draft.
It's going to take me awhile to get over this and soon I can concentrate on a daughter and the Yankees but if I ever see aaron rodgers in public do his stupid ass championship belt routine I may bludgeon him with a tack hammer....just sayin'.
